Personal mindfulness practice: meditation and vinyasa yoga

Laurie is an expert in finance, human resources, and operations, with extensive experience building systems and financial strategies for growing non-profits. She currently serves as Director of Finance & Administration at Day One, New York, where she supports the work of an interdisciplinary team focused on prevention and intervention services for young people affected by intimate partner violence. She previously worked as Finance and Operations Manager for the Massachusetts Alliance on Teen Pregnancy. Laurie received her Masters in Public Administration from Framingham State University. She is a Certified Professional in Human Resources Management and Non-Profit Accounting.

Laurie’s desire to be more present in daily life, and her search for effective coping strategies for managing anxiety, led her to mindfulness. She is a strong advocate for bringing mindfulness practices into the justice reform movement to help promote healing and disrupt the cycle of incarceration. Laurie joined the board because of Lineage Project’s restorative justice lens, and her vigorous belief in direct service. Her depth of knowledge in financial planning and non-profit management are a great asset to the board.
