Lineage is featured in Tricycle magazine. The article reflects on how Lineage's body-based practices promote healing and resilience among young people coping with trauma...how mindfulness can serve as a tool for widespread systemic change...and how all of us at Lineage strive to bring our highest selves to our work.
Lineage is seeking experienced part-time teachers to provide classes to youth and offer staff trainings in sites such as public schools and detention centers in NYC. Teachers must have experience working with youth and adults facing intense life stressors, and be versed in teaching meditation and mindful movement modalities (such as yoga or Tai Chi) to teens and adults.
Lineage's Executive Director spoke alongside Lineage's Founder Soren Gordhamer and other greats including Jon Kabat-Zinn, Sharon Salzburg, Andy Puddicombe, Arianna Huffington, and many more, at the first ever Mindfulness in America summit, co-hosted by Anderson Cooper.
Research on Lineage’s impact was published in the highly respected and peer-reviewed International Journal of Offender Therapy and Comparative Criminology.
“Mindfulness and Rehabilitation: Teaching Yoga and Meditation to Young Men in an Alternative to Incarceration Program” provides vivid insight into how Lineage’s program helped justice-involved young men manage their anger, reduce reactivity, and cope with high levels of stress and anxiety, and therefore may reduce the likelihood of justice system re-involvement.
The Village Voice published a feature article and a video about our work with homeless youth at a family shelter in the Bronx.
